Hello everyone, just to let you know I am now enroute back to to work on the ships after a short, hectic and expensive break.
Short - which was a good thing, hectic because I had to get Visas renewed and expensive for the same reason (not including flights over R2000 for the US and Canada visas...)
Ok so here we are in London, Heathrow Terminal 3, waiting for my flight to begin boarding. I have been notified of the gate number thanks to Sabre's SMS service before it was even posted in the lounge :)
Coming through Heathrow with a terminal change (arrived T4) was not as painful as transferring from Gatwick, but I experienced more unpleasantness with the UK Security - again the attitude of the security personnel. It would seem that we, the public whom they have been employed to protect, are the ones making their lives miserable. Sorry to say guys, but I think its the other way around: you are not the ones who have been dehumanized (thanks to my friend who gave me the correct word).
Anyway what can one do, but be a sheep - very Orwellian (Dad, you hit it right on the head with your reference to "1984")
Thats my update for now. I fly to Miami in an hour and then on to Aruba tonight.
Later
M
